Bhagavadgíta,-संन्यासयोगः saṃnyāsayogaḥ, (S.-1, Ch.-5, V.-28)

यतेन्द्रियमनोबुद्धिर्मुनिर्मोक्षपरायणः । विगतेच्छाभयक्रोधो यः सदा मुक्त एव सः ॥ ५-२८॥

yatendriyamanobuddhirmunirmokṣaparāyaṇaḥ । vigatecchābhayakrodho yaḥ sadā mukta eva saḥ ॥ 5-28॥



यत = yata (p. pass. participle *yam), controlled, subdued.; 

इन्द्रिय = indriya (n.), sense, sensation.; 

मन = manas (n.), mind.; 

बुद्धि = buddhis (f. nom. sg.), intelligence, mental detennination, intuition.(yatendriyamanobuddhi, f. nom. sg. BV cpd., whose senses, mind and intelligence are controlled.); 

मुनि = munis (m. nom. sg.), sage, wise man.; 

र्मोक्षपरायणः = mokṣaparāyaṇaḥ (m. nom. sg. BV cpd.), who has release as highest aim, whose highest course is release.; 

विगत = vigata (p. pass. participle vi .Jgam) , gone away, disappeared.; 

इच्छा = icchii (f.), desire.; 

भय = bhaya (n.), fear.; 

क्रोध = krodhas (m. nom. sg.), anger, wrath. (vigatecchābhayakrodho, m. nom. sg. BV cpd., from whom desire, fear and anger have disappeared.); 

यः = yah (m. nom. sg.), who.; 

सदा = sada, always, perpetually, forever.; 

मुक्त = muktas (m. nom. sg. p. pass. participle *muc), released, liberated.; 

एव = eva, indeed (used as a rhythmic filler).; 

सः = sas (m. nom. sg.), he, this one.



By forsaking the outer objects to outside, fixing the vision of eyes between the eyebrows and equaling the inner and outer breaths moving in the nostrils, doing thus the sage who has controlled the senses, mind, and intellect becomes free from desire, fear, anger, and intent on liberation and is thus certainly ever liberated. ||5-27,28||
