| Bhagavadgíta,-संन्यासयोगः saṃnyāsayogaḥ, (S.-1, Ch.-5, V.-29) |
भोक्तारं यज्ञतपसां सर्वलोकमहेश्वरम् । सुहृदं सर्वभूतानां ज्ञात्वा मां शान्तिमृच्छति ॥ ५-२९॥ |
bhoktāraṃ yajñatapasāṃ sarvalokamaheśvaram । suhṛdaṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ jñātvā māṃ śāntimṛcchati ॥ 5-29॥ |
भोक्तारं = bhoktāraṃ (m. acc. sg.), enjoyer, eater.; यज्ञ = yajña (m.), sacrifice, offering, sacrificial.; ; तपसां = tapasāṃ (n. gen. pl.), of the austerities, of the heatings. (yajñatapasāṃ, n. gen. pI., of the sacrificial austerities. ); सर्व = sarva, all.; लोक = loka (m.), world.; महेश्वरम् = maheśvaram (m. acc. sg.), Mighty Lord. (sarvalokamaheśvaram, m. acc. sg. TP cpd., mighty Lord of all the world.); सुहृदं = suhṛdaṃ (m. acc. sg.), friend, companion.; सर्वभूतानां = sarvabhūtānāṃ (m. gen. pl.), of all beings, of all creatures.; ज्ञात्वा = jñātvā (gerund *jna), knowing, having known.; मां = māṃ (acc. sg.), me.; शान्तिम = śāntim (f. acc. sg.), peace, tranquility.; रच्छति recchati (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. *r), he reaches, he attains, he ascends to, he obtains. |
One who knows Me as the enjoyer of all sacrifices and austerities, the Supreme Lord of all the worlds, and the well wisher (friend) of all living beings, attains the eternal peace. ||5-29||
