| Bhagavadgíta,-संन्यासयोगः saṃnyāsayogaḥ, (S.-1, Ch.-5, V.-26) |
कामक्रोधवियुक्तानां यतीनां यतचेतसाम् ।अभितो ब्रह्मनिर्वाणं वर्तते विदितात्मनाम् ॥ ५-२६॥ |
kāmakrodhaviyuktānāṃ yatīnāṃ yatacetasām । abhito brahmanirvāṇaṃ vartate viditātmanām ॥ 5-26॥ |
काम = kama (m.), desire, love, greed.; क्रोध = krodha (m.), anger, wrath.; वियुक्तानां = viyuktānāṃ (m. gen. pI. p. pass. participle vi*yuj), of the separated from, of the un-yoked, of the disjoined. (kāmakrodhaviyuktānāṃ, m. gen. pI. TP cpd., of those who are separated from de-sire and anger.); यतीनां = yatīnāṃ (m. gen. pl.), of the ascetics.; यतचेतसाम् = yatacetasām (m. gen. pl.), of the restrained in thought, (as BY cpd.) of those whose thoughts are controlled.; अभितो = abhitas (adv.), close, near.; ब्रह्मनिर्वाणं = brahmanirvāṇaṃ (n. nom. sg.), the nirvāṇa of Brahman, the extinction of the self in Brahman.; वर्तते = vartate (3rd sg. pr. indic. mid . *vrt), it lies, it exists, it works, it turns.; विदित = vidita (p. pass. participle *vid), known, learned, knowing, knower.; आत्मनाम् = ātmanām (m. gen. pl.), of the selves, of the souls. (viditātmanām, m. gen. pI. BY cpd., of the knowers of the self, of those to whom the self is known.) |
Persons who are delivered (freed) from desire and anger, who have won their minds, and who have realized the self, such wise persons attain the Supreme Lord from all sides. ||5-26||
