| Bhagavadgíta,-संन्यासयोगः saṃnyāsayogaḥ, (S.-1, Ch.-5, V.-19) |
इहैव तैर्जितः सर्गो येषां साम्ये स्थितं मनः । निर्दोषं हि समं ब्रह्म तस्माद् ब्रह्मणि ते स्थिताः ॥ ५-१९॥ |
ihaiva tairjitaḥ sargo yeṣāṃ sāmye sthitaṃ manaḥ । nirdoṣaṃ hi samaṃ brahma tasmād brahmaṇi te sthitāḥ ॥ 5-19॥ |
इह = iha, here, here on earth. एैव = eva, indeed (used as a rhythmic filler). ते tai (m. inst. pl.), by those, by them.; जित: = jitaḥ (m. nom. sg. p. pass. participle *ji) , conquered, subdued, controlled.; सर्गो = sargo (m. nom. sg.), birth, coming forth.; येषां = ye~ṣāṃ (m. gen. pl.), of whom.; साम्ये = sāmye (n. loco sg.), in equality, in sameness, in equability, in impartiality, in disinterest-edness.; स्थितं = sthitaṃ (n. nom. sg.), established, situated, abiding in, remaining.; मनः = manas (n. nom. sg.), mind, thought.; निर्दोषं = nirdoṣaṃ (n. nom. sg.), guiltless, withoutevil.; हि = hi, indeed, truly.; समं = samaṃ (n. nom. sg.), impartial, equable, equal, same, dispassionate, disinterested.; ब्रह्म = brahma (n. nom. sg.), Brahman.; तस्माद् = tasmād (m. abl. sg.), from this, therefore.; ब्रह्मणि = brahmaṇi (n. loco sg.), in Brahman.; ते = te, they.; स्थिताः = sthitāḥ (m. nom. pl.), established, abiding in, situated. |
And those who have equanimity of mind have conquered the world in their present life itself, because the Lord is pure and equal to all. Therefore such persons are well established in Brahma (God). ||5-19||
