| Bhagavadgíta,-ज्ञानकर्मसंन्यासयोगः jñānakarmasaṃnyāsay, (S.-1, Ch.-4, V.-31) |
यज्ञशिष्टामृतभुजो यान्ति ब्रह्म सनातनम् । नायं लोकोऽस्त्ययज्ञस्य कुतोऽन्यः कुरुसत्तम ॥ ४-३१॥ |
yajñaśiṣṭāmṛtabhujo yānti brahma sanātanam । nāyaṃ loko'styayajñasya kuto'nyaḥ kurusattama ॥ 4-31॥ |
यज्ञशिष्टा = yajñaśiṣṭa (n.), sacrifice remainder, remain-der of the offering, remainder consumed after the gods have taken their portion of the sacrifice.; अमृत = amrta (n.), nectar, immortality.; भुज = bhujas (f. nom. pl.), enjoying, eating.; (यज्ञशिष्टामृतभुजो = yajñaśiṣṭāmṛtabhujo, f. nom. pI., BY, sacrifice-remnant-nectar-enjoying ones.; यान्ति = yānti (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. ";ya) , they go, they come.; ब्रह्म = brahma (n. acc. sg.), to Brahman, Brahman.; सनातनम् = sanatanam (n. acc. sg.), primaeval, aged, ancient.; न = na, not.; अयं = ayam (m. nom. sg.), this.; लोक = loka (m. nom. sg.), world.; ऽस्ति = asti (3rd sg. pr. indic . *as), it is.; यज्ञस्य = yajñasya (m. gen. abl. sg.), of the non-sacrificing, for the non-sacrificing one.; कुत = kutas (interrog.), how?; ऽन्यः = anjaḣ (m. nom. sg.), other.; कुरुसत्तम = kurusattama (m. voc. sg.),Best of Kurus, Highest of Kurus, epithet of Arjunakuru je dění a sattama je realizace. |
O Best of the Kurus! Those who perform sacrifices and eat the sacred food,
which is like nectar that remains after a sacrifice, attain the supreme eternal
Absolute (God). And those who do not perform such sacrifices remain
unhappy in this world; then what to talk about the other worlds. ||4-31||
