धूमेनाव्रियते वह्निर्यथादर्शो मलेन च ।यथोल्बेनावृतो गर्भस्तथा तेनेदमावृतम् ॥ ३-३८॥

dhūmenāvriyate vahniryathādarśo malena ca ।yatholbenāvṛto garbhastathā tenedamāvṛtam ॥ 3-38॥

धूमेन = dhumena (m. inst. sg.). by smoke, with smoke.;

अव्रियते = avriyate (3rd sg. pr. indic. pass. a *vr), he is covered, he is enveloped.;

वह्नि = vahnis (m. nom. sg.), bearer (applied to draught animals, charioteers; here to Agni,the god of fire, who bears oblations to the gods).;

यथा = yatha, in which way, similarly as.;

अदर्श = adarsas (m. nom. sg. from a *drs), mirror.;

मलेन = malena (n. inst. sg.), by dust, with dust.;
