Bhagavadgita,-अर्जुनविषादयोगः arjunaviṣādayogaḥ, (S.-1, Ch.-1, V.-10) |
अपर्याप्तंतदस्माकं बलं भीष्माभिरक्षितम्। पर्याप्तंत्विदमेतेषां बलं भीमाभिरक्षितम्॥१-१०॥ |
aparjāptaṁ tadasmākaṁ balaṁ bhīṣmābhirakṣitam । parjāptaṁ tvidameteṣāṁ balaṁ bhīmābhirakšitam ॥1-10॥ |
अपर्याप्तं aparyaptam (m. nom. sg. p. pass. participle a pari .Jap), = incomplete, insufficient, unlimited, unbounded, unequal.; तद tad (m. nom. sg.), = that, this.; अस्माकं asmakam (gen. pi), = of us, ours, to us.; बलं balam (n. nom. sg.), = strength, force.; भीष्म Bhisma, the old Kaurava warrior, great uncle of the Pandava princes and a chief of the Kiiurave army; अभिरक्षितम् abhirakṣitam (m. nom. sg. p. pass. participle abhi /raks), = guarded, protected.; (bhīṣmābhirakṣitam, n. nom. sg. TP cpd.,guarded by Bhisma.); पर्याप्तं paryaptam (n. nom. p. pass. participle pari * ap), sufficient, abundant, equal.; त्विदमेतेषां तु tu, = but though.; इदम idam (n. nom. sg.), = this.; एतेषां etesam (m. gen. pl.), = of these, to them.; बलं balam (n. nom. sg.), = strength, force.; भीम Bhima, Piil).Qava warrior, brother of Arjuna.; अभिरक्षितम् ābhirakṣitam (n. nom. p. pass. participle abhi. *raks), protected, guarded.; (भीमाभिरक्षितम् Bhima-abhivak!iitam, n. nom. sg., guarded by Bhima.) |
And our strength is unvanquished as Bhishma protects our army, whereas their strength is inadequate as their army is limited because Bhima protects them. ||1-10||
