आश्चर्यवत्पश्यति कश्चिदेनमाश्चर्यवद्वदति तथैव चान्यः ।आश्चर्यवच्चैनमन्यः शृणोति श्रुत्वाप्येनं वेद न चैव कश्चित् ॥२- २९॥ |
āścaryavatpaśyati kaścidenamāścaryavadvadati tathaiva cānyaḥ ।āścaryavaccainamanyaḥ śṛṇoti śrutvāpyenaṃ veda na caiva kaścit ॥2- 29॥ |
आश्चर्यवत ascaryavat (adv.), = wondrously, full of marvels.; पश्यति paiyati (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. *pas), = he perceives, he sees.; कश्चितद kascid, = someone, anyone.; enam (m. acc. sg.), = this.; ascaryavat (adv.), wondrously, marvellously.; वद्वदति vadati (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. *vad), he says, he tells, he declares.; तथा tatha, = thus, indeed.; एव eva, = indeed (used as a rhythmic filler).; च ca, = and.; अन्यः anyas (m. nom. sg.), = another, other.; आश्चर्यवत ascaryavat (adv.), = wondrously, marvellously.; च ca, = and.; एनम enam (m. acc. sg.), = this.; अन्यः anyas (m. nom. sg.), = another, other.; शृणोति srnoti (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. *sru), he hears.; श्रुत्वा srutva (gerund *sru), = hearing, having heard.; अपि api, = even also.; एनम enam (m. acc. sg.), = this.; वेद veda (3rd sg. perf. act. *vid, = with present meaning), he knows.; न na, = not.; च ca, = and.; एव eva, = indeed (used as a rhythmic filler).; कश्चित् kascid, = anyone, anything. |
The knowledge of the self is very inaccessible. Therefore some people look
at it as amazing, some describe it as amazing and some hear of it as amazing
but others, even after hearing about it are unable to understand. ||2-29||
