अधर्माभिभवात्कृष्ण प्रदुष्यन्ति कुलस्त्रियः । स्त्रीषु दुष्टासु वार्ष्णेय जायते वर्णसङ्‌करः ॥१-४१॥

adharmābhibhavātkṛṣṇa praduṣjanti kulastrijaḣ । strīṣu duṣṭāsu vārṣṇeja džājate varṇasańkaraḣ ॥1-41॥

अधर्माभिभवात adharmabhibhavat (m. abl. sg.), = from overpowering by lawlessness, because of the ascendancy of lawlessness (adharma, law-lessness; abhibhavat, from over-powering).; करष्ण kṛṣṇa, (m. voc. sg.), Krishna. प्रदुष्यन्ति praduṣyanti (3rd pI. pr. indic. act. pra .*dus), = they become spoiled, they are corrupted. कुल kula (n.), family. स्त्रियः  striyas (f. nom. pl.), = women.; (kulastriyaḥ, f. nom. pI., = women of the family.); स्त्रीषु striyas (f. loco pl.), = in women.;  दुष्टासु duṣṭāsu (f. loco pI. p. pass. participle .*dus), corrupted, spoiled. (strīṣu duṣṭāsu, loco absol., when women are corrupted.); वार्ष्णेय vārṣṇeya (m. vOC. sg.), = Clansman of Vrsni, frequent epithet of Krishna.  Vresni ("potent," "manly") is a name of the Yadava or Madhava tribe, or another closely related tribe, to which Krishna belongs.; जायते jayate (3rd sg. pr. indic. passive .Jjan), = it is born, it is produced.; वर्ण  varna (m.), = caste, color.; संकरः saṃkaraḥ (m. nom. sg. from sam *kr), intermixture, pouring together, becoming confused.; (varṇasaṃkaraḥ, m. nom. sg. TP cpd., intermixture of caste.)
