Atmabodha,-The Birth of the EGO, (S.-1, Ch.-6, V.-32)

देहान्यत्वान्न मे जन्मजराकार्श्यलयादयः । शब्दादिविषयैः सङ्गो निरिन्द्रियतया न च ॥ ३२॥

dehānyatvānna me janmajarākārśyalayādayaḥ । śabdādiviṣayaiḥ saṅgo nirindriyatayā na ca ॥ 32॥

1 Deha anyatvaat na me janma: I am other than the body, thus not for me is birth, 2 jaraa akaarshya laya aadayah; wrinkling, senility, death and so on. 3 shabda-aadi vishayaih sangah With sense objects such as sound, etc, association 4 nir-indriya tayaa na cha: is nil as I (the Self) am without sense organs.

The following meditation (slokas 32 to 36) is suggested in order to strengthen the knowledge of the soul's oneness with Brahma. ''I am not the body that has time bound existence, birth, old age, weakness and death. I have nothing to do with the sense objects such as sound and taste, for I am without the sense organs.'' We are talking about Pure Atma. For a Brahma Jnani, only Atma is the concern. All the organs and body that constitute the three forms of Sareera are of no relevance to him. He will not get attached to any of them. So for him there are no births, no attachments and no interest in the pleasures and pains caused by sense organs. By getting detachment from them, he is able to get Eternal Bliss. As explained earlier, the process of discrimination is taking place by confirming one by one that 'I' is not this and this. First it is confirmed that, 'I' is not body or organs.
