Atmabodha,-An Error of MISAPPREHENSION, (S.-1, Ch.-5, V.-24)

प्रकाशोऽर्कस्य तोयस्य शैत्यमग्नेर्यथोष्णता । स्वभावः सच्चिदानन्दनित्यनिर्मलतात्मनः ॥ २४॥

prakāśo'rkasya toyasya śaityamagneryathoṣṇatā । svabhāvaḥ saccidānandanityanirmalatātmanaḥ ॥ 24॥

1 Prakaashah arkasya toyasya As the sun’s nature is luminosity; that of water is 2 shaityam agneh yathaa ushnataa; coolness; and that of fire is heat; so too, 3 swabhaavah satchidananda the nature of Existence, Knowledge and Bliss; 4 nitya-nirmalat aatmanah. of Eternity and Purity, are of the Self or Atman.

Brightness is sun's nature, coolness is water's nature, heat fire's nature. Similarly the nature of Atma is Sath (Absolute Existence), Chith (Absolute Knowledge) Ananda (Absolute Bliss), Permanence and Purity.
