१. सूत्रस्थानम् 1.sūtrasthānam,-Ritucharya adhyaya ऋतुचया, (S.-1, Ch.-3, V.-9-10)

दैर्घ्यान् निशानाम् एतर्हि प्रातर् एव बुभुक्षितः । अवश्य-कार्यं संभाव्य यथोक्तं शीलयेद् अनु ॥ ९ ॥ वात-घ्न-तैलैर् अभ्यङ्गं मूर्ध्नि तैलं विमर्दनम् । नियुद्धं कुशलैः सार्धं पादाघातं च युक्तितः ॥ १० ॥

dairghyān niśānām etarhi prātar eva bubhukṣitaḥ । avaśya-kāryaṃ saṃbhāvya yathoktaṃ śīlayed anu ॥ 9 ॥ vāta-ghna-tailair abhyaṅgaṃ mūrdhni tailaṃ vimardanam । niyuddhaṃ kuśalaiḥ sārdhaṃ pādāghātaṃ ca yuktitaḥ ॥ 10 ॥

During winter as the nights are longer every body feels hungry immediately after getting up from the bed. Hence after attending the nature calls, whoever feels hungry, take the food substances containing madhura, amla and lavana rasas. In this season one has to perform abhyanga (body massage) with vátahara tailas, múrhda taila (head massage), wrestling with skilled persons to half of his strenght and pádágháta (foot massage) etc. regularly.
