१. सूत्रस्थानम् 1.sūtrasthānam,-Ritucharya adhyaya ऋतुचया, (S.-1, Ch.-3, V.-7-8) |
बलिनः शीत-संरोधाद् धेमन्ते प्रबलो ऽनलः ॥ ७ ॥ भवत्य् अल्पेन्धनो धातून् स पचेद् वायुनेरितः । अतो हिमे ऽस्मिन् सेवेत स्वाद्व्-अम्ल-लवणान् रसान् ॥ ८ ॥ |
balinaḥ śīta-saṃrodhād dhemante prabalo 'nalaḥ ॥ 7 ॥ bhavaty alpendhano dhātūn sa paced vāyuneritaḥ । ato hime 'smin seveta svādv-amla-lavaṇān rasān ॥ 8 ॥ |
In hemanta, the people are strong, the anala (digestive fire in alimentary tract) becomes powerful due to the cold breeze the body temperature is obstructed and enters deep into the body. It begins to digest the tissues (of the body) supported by váyu; hence in hemanta (winter) it is advised to consume more snigdha(unctuous) madhura(sweet),amla(sour) and lavana (salt) dravya (substances) . |
