devadattaḥ—Devadatta; gacchati—goes; yajñadattaḥ—Yajñadatta; gacchati—goes; iti—such; These. upacārāt—by transference; śarīre—in the body; pratyayaḥ—intntition; Belief.

Verse: ‘Devadatta goes,’ ‘Yajñadatta goes,’—in these cases, the belief (that their respective bodies go) is due to transference.
