यो वा एतामेवं वेदापहत्य पाप्मानमनन्ते स्वर्गे लोके ज्येये प्रतितिष्ठति प्रतितिष्ठति ॥ ९॥ ॥ इति केनोपनिषदि चतुर्थः खण्डः ॥

yo vā etāmevaṃ vedāpahatya pāpmānamanante svarge loke jyeye pratitiṣṭhati pratitiṣṭhati ॥ 9॥ ॥ iti kenopaniṣadi caturthaḥ khaṇḍaḥ ॥



yaḥ (m. nom. sing. relative pron. yad): who. vai (ind.): indeed, truly, certainly, verily. etām (f. acc. sing. pron. etad): this. evam (ind.): thus, in this way, in such a manner, such. veda (3 rd sing. pres. indic. P. √vid): (one) knows, perceives. apahatya (ger. apa √han): having beaten off,repelled, destroyed. pāpmānam (m. acc. sing. pāpman): evil, unhappiness, misfortune. anante (m. loc. sing. ananta): in the endless, boundless. svarge (mn. loc. sing. svarga): in the heavenly, celestial. loke (mn. loc. sing. loka): in the world. jyeye (mn. loc. sing. jyeya): most excellent, best. pratitiṣṭhati (3 rd sing. pres. indic. Verily, one who knows this thus, Having beaten off evil, stands firmly, firmly in the endless, heavenly, most excellent world.
