yastu vijñānavānbhavati samanaskaḥ sadā śuciḥ । sa tu tatpadamāpnoti yasmādbhūyo na jāyate ॥ 8॥ |
yaḥ tu = but that [intellect]; bhavati = becoming; vijñānavān = skilful, having insight and discrimination; sa-manaskaḥ = whose mind is controlled; sadā = always; śuciḥ = pure; saḥ = he, that person; tu = but, indeed; āpnoti = obtains; tat = that; padam = goal; yasmāt = whence; na = not, never; bhūyaḥ = again; jāyate = is born. |
But if the buddhi, being related to a mind that is restrained, possesses discrimination and therefore always remains pure, then the embodied soul attains that goal from which he is not born again.
