tadartha eva dr̥śyasya-ātmā ॥21॥
tad-artha = the purpose for that, to serve as (tad = that; artha = purpose)

eva = only

drishyasya = of the seen, knowable

atma = essence, being, existence

Physical objects can only be deemed to such if perceived by the true self (atma) ||21||
