| तृतीयोध्यायः,-Tratiyóddhyāya, (Ch.-3, V.-56) |
यावद्गच्छेत् सुषुम्नायां वायुः प्रकाशयेत् हठात्। तदा वायुप्रबन्धेन कुम्भिका च भुजङ्गिनी ॥५६॥ |
yāvadgacchet suṣumnāyāṃ vāyuḥ prakāśayet haṭhāt। tadā vāyuprabandhena kumbhikā ca bhujaṅginī ॥56॥ |

By restraining the breath by the Kumbhaka in this way, the serpent Kundalini, feeling suffocated awakes and rises upwards to the Brahmarandhra. |
