हतो वा प्राप्स्यसि स्वर्गं जित्वा वा भोक्ष्यसे महीम् ।तस्मादुत्तिष्ठ कौन्तेय युद्धाय कृतनिश्चयः ॥२- ३७॥

hato vā prāpsyasi svargaṃ jitvā vā bhokṣyase mahīm ।tasmāduttiṣṭha kaunteya yuddhāya kṛtaniścayaḥ ॥2- 37॥

हतो hato (m. nom. sg. p. pass. participle .*han), = slain, killed.; वा va = either-or.; प्राप्स्यसि prapsyasi (2nd sg. fut. act. pra .*ap), = thou shalt attain, thou shalt reach.; स्वर्गं svargam (m. acc. sg.), = heaven.; जित्वा jitva (gerund .*ji), = having conquered.; भोक्ष्यसे bhokṣyase (2nd sg. fut. mid . .*bhuj), = thou shalt enjoy, thou shalt eat.; महीम् mahim (f. acc. sg.), = the earth.; तस्मात tasmat (ab!. sg.), = from this, therefore.; उत्तिष्ठ uttiṣṭha (2nd sg. imperative act. ud .*stha), = stand up! arise!; कौन्तेय kaunteya (m. voc. sg.), = Son of Kunti, epithet of AIjuna.; युद्धाय yuddhaya (m. dat. sg.), = to battle, to fighting.; कृतनिश्चयः kṛtaniścayaḥ (m. n. s.), resolved (krta, made; niscaya, conviction).
