अविनाशि तु तद्विद्धि येन सर्वमिदं ततम् ।विनाशमव्ययस्यास्य न कश्चित्कर्तुमर्हति ॥२- १७॥

avināśi tu tadviddhi yena sarvamidaṃ tatam ।vināśamavyayasyāsya na kaścitkartumarhati ॥2- 17॥

अविनाशि avinasi (n. acc. sg. from a vi .*nas), = indestructible, not to be lost.; 
तु tu, = indeed, but.; तद tad (n. acc. sg.), = this, that.; 
विधी viddhi (2nd sg. imperative act. .*vid), = know! learn!; 
येन yena (n. inst. sg.), = by which.; 
सर्वम sarvam idam (n. acc. sg.), = all this, used in the meaning of "all this visible universe."; 
ततम् tatam (n. acc. sg. p. pass. participle .*tan), = extended, diffused, pervaded.; 
विनाशम vinasam (m. acc. sg. from vi *nas), * destruction, loss.; 
अव्ययस्य avyayasya (n. gen. sg.), of the imperishable, of the eternal.; 
अस्य asya (n. gen. sg.), = of it, of this. न na, = not.; 
कश्चिद kascid, = anyone, anyone whoever.; 
कर्तुम kartum (infinitive .*kr:), = to do, to make, to accomplish.; 
अर्हति arhati (3rd sg. pr. indic. acc . .*arh), he is worthy, he is able, he is capable.
