तत्रापश्यत्स्थितान्पार्थः पितॄनथ पितामहान् । आचार्यान्मातुलान्भ्रातॄन्पुत्रान्पौत्रान्सखींस्तथा ॥१-२६॥ |
tatrāpaśjatsthitānpārthaḣ pitṝnatha pitāmahān । āčārjānmātulānbhrātṝnputrānpautrānsakhīṁstathā ॥1-26॥ |
तत्रा tatra, = there, thither.; अपश्यात āpaśyat (3rd sg. imperfect act. .*pasj, = he saw.; त्स्थितान sthitān (m. acc. pI. p. pass. participle .*sthii), = standing situated.; पार्थः pārthaḥ (m. nom. sg.), = the Son of Prthii, epithet frequently applied to Arjuna. पितॄ pitṝ (m. acc. pl.), = fathers.; अथ atha, = then, and.; पितामहान् pitāmahān (m. acc. pl.), = grandfathers.;आचार्य ācāryān (m. acc. pl.), = teachers, masters.; न्मातुलान्भ्रा mātulān (m. acc. pl.), = maternal uncles.; न्भ्रातॄन्पु bhrātṝn (m. acc. pl.), = brothers.; न्पुत्रा putrān (m. acc. pl.), = sons.; pautrān (m. acc. pl.), = grandsons.; न्पुत्रा न्सखीं sakhīṃ (m. acc. pl.), = friends, companions.;स्तथा stathā, = likewise, as well. |

Then Arjuna, the son of Pritha, saw on either sides of the armies his brothers, cousins, uncles, teachers, fatherly people, grandfathers, sons, grandsons, friends, maternal uncles and also his well-wishers. Arjuna thus saw his relatives and friends present on the field. ||1-26,27||
