नैव किञ्चित्करोमीति युक्तो मन्येत तत्त्ववित् । पश्यञ्शृण्वन्स्पृशञ्जिघ्रन्नश्नन्गच्छन्स्वपञ्श्वसन् ॥ ५-८॥ |
naiva kiñcitkaromīti yukto manyeta tattvavit । paśyañśṛṇvanspṛśañjighrannaśnangacchansvapañśvasan ॥ 5-8॥ |
न = na not.; एैव = eva, indeed (used as a rhythmic filler).; किञ्चित् = kiñcit or kirhcid, anything, anything what-ever, even a little.; करोमी = karomi (1st sg. pr. indic. act. *krt), I do, I make, I act.; इति = iti, thus (often used to close a quotation).; युक्तो = yukto (m. nom. sg. p. pass. participle *yuj), disciplined, steadfast, yoked in Yoga, fixed in Yoga.; मन्येत = manyate (3rd sg. pr. indic. mid . .Jman), he thinks.; तत्त्ववित् = tattvavid (m. nom. sg.), the knower of "that-ness," the knower of truth.; पश्यञ् = paSyan (m. nom. sg. pro act. participle *pas), seeing, perceiving, observing.; शरण्वन् = śṛṇvan (m. nom. sg. pr. act. participle *sru), hearing.; न्स्पृश = spṛśa (m. nom. sg. pr. act. participle.*sprś), touching.; ञ्जिघ्रन्न = jighranna (m. nom. sg. pr. act. participle *ghra), smelling, scenting. asoon (m. nom. sg. pr. act. participle *as), eating.; गच्छन् = gacchan (m. nom. sg. pr. act. participle *gam), going, walking.; सवपन = svapañ (m. nom. sg. pr. act. participle *svap), sleeping. शवसन् = śvasan (m. nom. sg. pr. act. participle *svas), breathing, blowing. |
One who knows the philosophy of God, such a yogi, although is seeing, listening, touching, smelling, eating, walking, sleeping, breathing, talking, discarding, accepting, and even though opening his eyes and closing them, thinks that the senses are acting accordingly and undoubtedly knows that he is not doing anything. ||5-8,9|
