Bhagavadgíta,-संन्यासयोगः saṃnyāsayogaḥ, (S.-1, Ch.-5, V.-4)

साङ्ख्ययोगौ पृथग्बालाः प्रवदन्ति न पण्डिताः । एकमप्यास्थितः सम्यगुभयोर्विन्दते फलम् ॥ ५-४॥

sāṅkhyayogau pṛthagbālāḥ pravadanti na paṇḍitāḥ । ekamapyāsthitaḥ samyagubhayorvindate phalam ॥ 5-4॥



साङ्ख्य = sāṅkhya, one of the oldest of Hindu philosophies, non-theistic, con- cerned with theory; 

योगौ = yogau (m. nom. dual DV cpd.), Yoga.; 

पृथग्बालाः = pṛthak (adv.), distinct, separate, single, one by one.; 

मला: = MIāḥ(m. nom. pl.), childish, foolish.; 

प्रवदन्ति = pravadanti (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. pra *vad), they declare, they maintain.; 

 = na, not.; 

पण्डिताः = pafJ4itas (m. nom. pl.), paI~4its, wise men.; 

एकम = ekam (n. nom. sg.), one.; 

अपि = api, even.; 

अस्थितः = asthitas (m. nom. sg. p. pass. participle a *stha), practiced, followed, undertaken, performed.; 

सम्यग = samyag (adv.), correctly, (adj.) true, right.; 

उभयो = ubhayo (m. gen. dual), of both.; 

विन्दते = vindate (3rd sg. pr. indic. mid . .J2 vid), he finds, one finds.; 

फलम् = phalam (n. acc. sg.), fruit.



The foolish people say that renunciation of action and selfless action are different from each other. But the person who is well established in any one of them gets the fruit of both. ||5-4||
