| Bhagavadgíta,-ज्ञानकर्मसंन्यासयोगः jñānakarmasaṃnyāsay, (S.-1, Ch.-4, V.-38) |
न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते । तत्स्वयं योगसंसिद्धः कालेनात्मनि विन्दति ॥ ४-३८॥ |
na hi jñānena sadṛśaṃ pavitramiha vidyate । tatsvayaṃ yogasaṃsiddhaḥ kālenātmani vindati ॥ 4-38॥ |
न = na, not; हि = hi, indeed.; ज्ञानेन = jñānena (n. inst. sg.), by knowledge, to knowledge.; सदृशं = sadṛśaṃ (n. nom. sg.), similar, equal.; पवित्रम = pavitram (n. nom. sg.), purifier, cleanser.; इह = iha, here, here in the world.; विद्यते = vidyate (3rd sg. pr. indie. passive --12 vid), it is found.; तद = tad, (n. acc. sg.), that.; सवयं = svayam (adv.), himself, own, self.; योग = yoga (m.), Yoga.; संसिद्धः = samsiddhas (m. nom. sg. p. pass. participle sam *sidh), perfected, accomplished, suc-cessful. (योगसंसिद्धः yoga-samsiddhas, m. nom. sg. TP cpd., per-fected in yoga.); कालेन = kālenā (m. inst. sg.), by time, with time, in time.; आत्मनि = ātmani (m. loco sg.), in the self.; विन्दति = vindati (3rd sg. pro indic. acc . .J2 vid), he finds, one finds. |
There is certainly nothing in this world, which is equal to knowledge in
purifying. One, who has become perfect in Yoga, finds that in the self in due
course of time. ||4-38||
