Bhagavadgita,-अर्जुनविषादयोगः arjunaviṣādayogaḥ, (S.-1, Ch.-1, V.-14)

ततः श्वेतैर्हयैर्युक्ते महति स्यन्दने स्थितौ। माधवः पाण्डवश्चैव दिव्यौ शङ्खौ प्रदध्मतुः॥१-१४॥

tataḣ śvetairhajairjukte mahati sjandane sthitau । mādhavaḣ pāṇḍavaśčaiva divjau śańkhau pradadhmatuḣ ॥1-14॥



ततः tatas, = then, thereupon, from thence .; श्वेत svetair (m. inst. pl.), = with white, by white.; र्हय hayair (m. inst. pl.), = with horses, by horses.; युक्त yukt (m. loco sg. p. pass. participle .Jyuj), = yoked, joined, in yoke.; महति mahati (m. loco sg.), = in the great, in the mighty.; स्यन्दन syandane (m. loco sg.), = in the "fast-running," in the chariot.; स्थित sthitau (m. nom. dual), = standing, situated.; माधवः mādhavaḥ (m. nom. sg.), = descendant of Madhu, Krishna (the Yadavas, Krishna's tribe, was descended from Madhu; ca, = and. एैव eva, = indeed (used as a rhythmic filler).; दिव्य divyau (m. n. nom. acc. dual), = the two divine, the two heavenly.; शङ्ख śaṅkhau (m. n. nom. acc. dual), = the two conch horns.; प्रदध्मतुः pradadhmatuḥ (3rd dual perfect act. pra.*dhma), they two blew forth.;



After that, Lord Sri Krishna and Arjuna, who were sitting in a chariot drawn by white horses, blew their divine conch shells. Lord Sri Krishna blew His conch shell called Pancajanya, Arjuna blew his conch shell named Devadatta, and Bhima, who performs terrific deeds, blew his mighty conch shell named Paundra. ||1-14,15|
