| Bhagavadgíta,-कर्मयोगःः karmayoga 3, (S.-1, Ch.-3, V.-10) |
सहयज्ञाः प्रजाः सृष्ट्वा पुरोवाच प्रजापतिः ।अनेन प्रसविष्यध्वमेष वोऽस्त्विष्टकामधुक् ॥ ३-१०॥ |
sahayajñāḥ prajāḥ sṛṣṭvā purovāca prajāpatiḥ ।anena prasaviṣyadhvameṣa vo'stviṣṭakāmadhuk ॥ 3-10॥ |
यज्ञा = yajna (m.), sacrifice.; अर्थात = arthat (m. abl. sg.), from object, from pur-pose, from aim. (यज्ञार्था yajnarthat, m. abl. sg. TP cpd., for the pur-pose of sacrifice.); कर्मणो = karmanas (n. abl. sg.), from action.; ऽन्यत्र = anyatra, adv., aside from, elsewhere, otherwise.; लोको = lokas (m. nom. sg.), world.; ऽयं = ayam (m. nom. sg.), this.; कर्मबन्धनः = karmabandhanas (m. nom. sg. BV cpd.) such that it is bound by action.; तद = tad (n. acc. sg.), that, this.; अर्थम = artham (m. acc. sg.), purpose, aim, object.; कर्म = karma (n. acc. sg.), action, deeds.; कौन्तेय = kaunteya (m. voc. sg.), Son of Kunt!, epithet of Arjuna referring to his mother.; मुक्त = mukta (p. pass. participle .Jmuc), freed, released.; सङ्गः = sangas (m. nom. sg . .*sanj), attachment, clinging. (मुक्तसङ्गः muktasangas, m. nom. sg. BV cpd., being free from attachment.); समाचर = samacara (2nd sg. imperative act. sam a .* car), perform! accomplish! |
At the dawn of creation, Brahma created mankind and sacrifice (yajna)
together and said, “Attain prosperity through this sacrifice and this will
certainly fulfill all your desired wants”. ||3-10||
