न हि कश्चित्क्षणमपि जातु तिष्ठत्यकर्मकृत् ।कार्यते ह्यवशः कर्म सर्वः प्रकृतिजैर्गुणैः ॥ ३-५॥

na hi kaścitkṣaṇamapi jātu tiṣṭhatyakarmakṛt ।kāryate hyavaśaḥ karma sarvaḥ prakṛtijairguṇaiḥ ॥ 3-5॥

न = na, not.; 

हि = hi, indeed, truly.; 

कश्चित = kascid, anyone, anyone whatsoever.; 

त्क्षणम = ksanam (n. nom. sg.), an instant, a moment, the twinkling of an eye.; 

अपि = api, even, also.; 

जातु = jatu, ever, at any time.; 

तिष्ठत् = tisthati (3rd sg. pro indic. act. *stha), he stands, he exists, he remains.; 

कर्मकृत् = akarmakrt (m. nom. sg.), not action doing, not performing action.; 

कार्यते = karyate (3rd sg. pr. indic. pass. causative *kr:), he is caused to perform, he is forced to perform.; 

हि = hi, indeed, truly.; 

अवशः = avasa (m. nom. sg.), without will, against will.; 

कर्म = karma (n. acc. sg.), action.; 

सर्वः = sarvas (m. nom. sg.), all, everyone.; 

प्रकृतिजै = prakrtijais (m. inst. pl.), by original sources born, by material nature born.; 

गुणैः = gunais (m. inst. pl.), by the guna.
