विषया विनिवर्तन्ते निराहारस्य देहिनः ।रसवर्जं रसोऽप्यस्य परं दृष्ट्वा निवर्तते ॥२- ५९॥ |
viṣayā vinivartante nirāhārasya dehinaḥ ।rasavarjaṃ raso'pyasya paraṃ dṛṣṭvā nivartate ॥2- 59॥ |
विषया visayas (m. nom. pl.), = objects, dominions, spheres of influence.; विनिवर्तन्ते vinivartante (3rd pI. pr. indic. mid. vi ni *vrt), they turn away. ; निराहारस्य niraharasya (m. gen. sg. from nir ahara. food), = from the fasting, from the without food.; देहिनः dehinas (m. gen. sg.), = of the embodied one, of the litman. of the self.; रस rasa (m.), = flavor. taste.; वर्जं varjam (adv.), = excluding, with the exception of. TP cpd.; रस rasa (m. nom. sg.), = flavor, taste.; अपि ऽप्य api. = also, even.; अस्य asya (m. gen. sg.), = of him.; परं param (m. acc. sg.): = the highest. the supreme.; दृष्ट्वा drstva (gerund *drs), = seemg, havmg seen.; निवर्तते nivartate (3rd sg. pr. indie. mid. ni *vrt), = it turns away. |
Such a person restricts himself from sense enjoyment, but the taste for sense
objects is present. Further, the taste also disappears when he realizes the
Supreme Soul (God). ||2-59||
