Bhagavadgíta,-6. ātmasaṃyamayogaḥ आत्मसंयमयोगः , (S.-1, Ch.-6, V.-22)

यं लब्ध्वा चापरं लाभं मन्यते नाधिकं ततः ।यस्मिन्स्थितो न दुःखेन गुरुणापि विचाल्यते ॥ ६-२२॥

yaṃ labdhvā cāparaṃ lābhaṃ manyate nādhikaṃ tataḥ । yasminsthito na duḥkhena guruṇāpi vicālyate ॥ 6-22॥



यं = yam (m. acc. sg.), which, who.; 

लब्ध्वा = labdhvā (gerund Jabh), attaining, having at-tained, obtaining, having obtained.; 

 = ca, and.; 

अपरं = aparam (m. acc. sg.), other.; 

लाभं = lābhaṃ (m. acc. sg.), gain, attainment, ob-tainment.; 

मन्यते = manyate (3rd sg. pro indic. mid. *man), he thinks, he imagines.; 

 = na, not.; 

अधिकं = adhikam (m. ace. sg.), greater, additional, subsequent, superior.; 

ततः = tatas (m. abl. sg.), from there, from this point.; 

यस्मिन = yasmin (m. loco sg.), in which, in whom.; 

न्स्थितो  = sthito (m. nom. sg.), established, situated, abiding in.; 

 = na, not.; 

दुःखेन = duḥkhena (n. inst. sg.), by sorrow, by misfor-tune.; 

गुरुणा = guruṇa (n. inst. sg.), by heavy, by profound.; 

अपि = api, even, also.; 

विचाल्यते = vicālyate (3rd sg. pr. indic. causative passive vi *cal), he is shaken, he is moved.



When the mind, subdued by the practice of yoga comes to rest, and when the pure intellect realizes the Lord, it becomes satisfied in the Lord itself. And when one enjoys the Supreme eternal bliss that is beyond the perception of senses and obtainable only through the intelligence, a yogi situated in such a condition never deviates from the Supreme self. And having gained such a condition he does not consider anything as more profitable than this. And a Yogi situated in such a position is never afflicted even by the greatest sorrow. That which is away from the union of painful world is called Yoga and must be clearly known. And such yoga must be decisively practiced by the constant, undisturbed mind. This stage of perfection is called trance (Samaadhi). ||6-20,21,22,23||
