कर्मजं बुद्धियुक्ता हि फलं त्यक्त्वा मनीषिणः ।जन्मबन्धविनिर्मुक्ताः पदं गच्छन्त्यनामयम् ॥२- ५१॥ |
karmajaṃ buddhiyuktā hi phalaṃ tyaktvā manīṣiṇaḥ ।janmabandhavinirmuktāḥ padaṃ gacchantyanāmayam ॥2- 51॥ |
कर्मजं karmajam (karma Jja, n. acc. sg.), = born of action, produced by action.; बुद्धि buddhi (f.), = intelligence, enlightenment, intuitive detennination.; युक्ता yuktas (m. nom. pI. p. pass. participle *yuj), = yoked, joined, disciplined.; हि hi, = indeed.; फलं phalam (n. acc. sg.), = fruit, result.; त्यक्त्वा tyaktva (gerund .*tyaj), = abandoning, having abandoned, having cast aside.; मनीषिणः manīṣiṇaḥ (m. nom. pl.), = wise, wise ones.; जन्म janma (n.), = birth, rebirth. बन्ध bandha (m.), bondage.; विनिर्मुक्ताः vinirmuktah (m. nom. pI. participle vi nir *muc), = released, freed from. (जन्मबन्धविनिर्मुक्ताः janmabandhavinirmuktah, m. nom. pI., freed from the bondage of rebirth.); पदं padam (n. acc. sg.), = place, way, abode.; गच्छन्त्य gacchanti (3rd pI. pro indic. act. *gam), = they go.; अनामयम् anamayam (n. acc. sg.), = free from disease, free from pain, healthy, salubrious. |
The wise persons with evenness of mind renounce the fruits of their actions
and obtain the liberated state, which is like nectar and free themselves from
the birth and death cycle. ||2-51||
