भ्रान्त्या बहुमतध्वान्ते राजयोगं अजानताम् ।हठप्रदीपिकां धत्ते स्वात्मारामः कृपाकरः ॥ १.३ ॥ |
Bhrāntyā bahumatadhvānte rājayogamajānatām hathapradīpikām dhatte svātmārāmah krpākarah |
| Bhrāntyā - by the wandering, by confusion;
Bahu - many;
Mata - (Teaching) Opinions;
Dhvānte - in the dark;
Rāja-yogam - royal yoga;
Ajānatām - those who are unable;
Haṭha-pradīpikāṁ - the light of the determination;
Dhatte - gives;
Svātmārāmaḥ - Svatmarama;
Kṛpā - compassion, blessings;
Ākaraḥ - shape. |
Because of the darkness that comes from multiple opinions, people are unable to know Râja Yoga. The compassionate Svâtmârâma has composed the Hatha Yoga Pradipikâ as a light to reveal the shape of what we seek. |
