aṇu mahaditi tasmin viśeṣabhāvāt viśeṣābhāvācca || 7.1.11 || |
In what sense the same thing appears both small and large

aṇu—atomic, small, minute; mahat—large, massive; iti—such; tasmin—in that, ie, in respect of one and the same object; viśeṣa-bhāvāt—from the existence of the species, or of the peculiarity; viśeṣa-abhāvāt—from the non-existence of the species, or of the peculiarity.

Verse: ‘(It is) smaller, ‘(It is) larger,’—such affirmations, in respect of one and the same object, arise from the existence of the species, or of the peculiarity, and from the non-existence of the species, or of the peculiarity
