draṣṭr̥-dr̥śyayoḥ saṁyogo heyahetuḥ ॥17॥ |
| drashtri = of the seer, knower, apprehender drishyayoh = of the seen, knowable samyogah = union, conjunction heya = to be discarded, avoided, prevented hetuh = the cause, reason |
For identificaiton of the true self (drashtu) with that which is mutable is the cause of suffering. ||17|| |
