| समाधिपाद,-1.Samādhi Pāda, (S.-0, Ch.-1, V.-49) |
श्रुतानुमानप्रज्ञाअभ्यामन्यविषया विशेषार्थत्वात् ॥४९॥ |
śruta-anumāna-prajñā-abhyām-anya-viṣayā viśeṣa-arthatvāt ॥49॥ |
| shruta = testimony, heard, learned, from tradition anumana = inference, reasoning, deduction prajnabhyam = from those kinds of knowledge anya-vishaya = having different objects (anya = different; vishaya = objects, fields, realms, domains) vishesha-arthatvat = relating to particular objects, purpose, or significance |
The knowledge that is gained from testimony and inference is about common objects. That from the Samadhi just mentioned is of a much higher order, being able to penetrate where inference and testimony cannot go. |
