अपानप्राणयोरैक्यं क्षयो मूत्रपुरीषयोः ।
युवा भवति वृद्धोऽपि सततं मूलबन्धनात् ॥ ३.६५ ॥ |
apānaprāṇayoraikyaṃ kṣayo mūtrapurīṣayoḥ ।
yuvā bhavati vṛddho'pi satataṃ mūlabandhanāt ॥ 3.65 ॥ |
Apāna: the down-flowing energy ("wind", Apana)
Prāṇayoḥ: and the upward-flowing energy ("wind", prana)
Aikyaṁ: the unit (Aikya)
Kḥayaḥ: (the) reduction (Kshaya)
Mūtra: (from) urine (mutra)
Purīṣayoḥ: and chair (Purisha)
Yuvā: young (yuvan)
Bhavati: becomes, arises (bhū)
Vṛddhaḥ: (one) age, old man (Vriddha)
Api: also, even (api)
Satataṁ: always, persistent (practiced, Satata)
Mūla-bandhanāt: due to Mula Bandha ("root closure") || 65 ||

By purifying Prâna and Apâna Vyu, the production of urine and excrement decreases. Even an old man becomes young
by constantly practising Mûla Bandha.
