अहिंसा समता तुष्टिस्तपो दानं यशोऽयशः ।भवन्ति भावा भूतानां मत्त एव पृथग्विधाः ॥ १०-५॥

ahiṃsā samatā tuṣṭistapo dānaṃ yaśo'yaśaḥ ।bhavanti bhāvā bhūtānāṃ matta eva pṛthagvidhāḥ ॥ 10-5॥

अहिंसा ahiṃsā = non-violence, harmlessness.;

समता samata  =   impartiality, equableness.;

तुष्टिस tuṣṭis  =   contentment, satisfaction.;

तप tapas  =  , austerity, heat.;

दानं dánaṁ  =   charity, benevolence, gift.; 

यशो jaśó  =   fame, celebrity, good name.;

ऽयशः Ajaśaḣ  =   disrepute, bad reputation.;

भवन्ति bhavanti =   they are, they arise, they come to be.;

भावा bhává  =   conditions, states of being.;

भूतानां bhútánáṁ  =   of beings, of creatures.;

मत्त matta  =  from me.;

एव éva =  alone, indeed (often used as a rhythmic filler).;

पृथग्विधाः pṛthagvidháḣ  =   manifold, existing in many forms, placed many times, of many varieties.
