| Bhagavadgíta,-कर्मयोगःः karmayoga 3, (S.-1, Ch.-3, V.-43) |
एवं बुद्धेः परं बुद्ध्वा संस्तभ्यात्मानमात्मना ।जहि शत्रुं महाबाहो कामरूपं दुरासदम् ॥ ३-४३॥ |
evaṃ buddheḥ paraṃ buddhvā saṃstabhyātmānamātmanā ।jahi śatruṃ mahābāho kāmarūpaṃ durāsadam ॥ 3-43॥ |
एवं = evam, thus, even so.; बुद्धेः = buddhes (f. abl. sg.), from the intelligence, than the intelligence.; परं = param (n. nom. sg.), higher.; बुद्ध्वा = buddhva (gerund *budh), having learned.; संस्तभ्या = samstabhya (gerund sam *stabh), together sustaining, upholding.; आत्मानम = atmanam (m. acc. sg.), self.; आत्माना = atmana (m. inst. sg.), by the self.; जहि = jahi (2nd sg. imperative act. *han), kill! de-stroy!; शत्रुं = satrum (m. acc. sg.), enemy, adversary.; महाबाहो = mahabaho (m. voc. sg.), 0 Mighty Armed One, epithet of AIjuna and other warriors.; कामरूपं = kamarupam (n. acc. sg.), desire-form, having the form of desire, (as BY cpd.) which hasthe form of desire.; दुरासदम् = durasadam (n. acc. sg.), difficult to approach, encountered wtih difficulty. |
O mighty armed! Thus, knowing the soul to be superior than intellect and
keeping the mind under control by the intelligence, slay the unconquerable
enemy who is in the form of desire. ||3-43||
