| Bhagavadgíta,-साङ्ख्ययोगः sámkhjajóga, (S.-1, Ch.-2, V.-66) |
नास्ति बुद्धिरयुक्तस्य न चायुक्तस्य भावना ।न चाभावयतः शान्तिरशान्तस्य कुतः सुखम् ॥२- ६६॥ |
nāsti buddhirayuktasya na cāyuktasya bhāvanā ।na cābhāvayataḥ śāntiraśāntasya kutaḥ sukham ॥2- 66॥ |
न na = not. अस्ति asti (3rd sg. pr. indic.*as), = it is, there is. बुद्धि buddhi (f. nom. sg.), = intelligence, discrimination, intuitive determination. अयुक्तस्य ayuktasya (m. gen. sg.) = of the uncontrolled, of the undisciplined one, of him who is undisciplined. न na, = not. चca, = and. अयुक्तस्य ayuktasya (m. gen. sg.), = of the uncontrolled,of the undisciplined, of the unsteadfast in Yoga. भावना bhavana (f. nom. sg.), = meditation, perception, concentration. न na, = not. चca, = and. अभावयतः abhavayatah (m. gen. sg.), = of the non-meditating, of the non-perceiving, of the non concentrating. शान्ति santi (f. nom. sg.), = peace, tranquility. अशान्तस्य asantasya (m. gen. sg.), = of the unpeaceful, of the unpeaceful one. कुतः kutah (interrog.), = whence? from where? सुखम् sukham (n. acc. sg.), = happiness, joy, good fortune. |
A person whose mind is not fixed in God cannot have any intellect and such
a person does not believe in the existence of God. For him, there is no peace
and without having peace how can he gain happiness? ||2-66|
