Bhagavadgíta,-साङ्ख्ययोगः sámkhjajóga, (S.-1, Ch.-2, V.-62)

ध्यायतो विषयान्पुंसः सङ्गस्तेषूपजायते ।सङ्गात्संजायते कामः कामात्क्रोधोध्यायतो dhyāyato (m. gen. sg. pr. act participle *dhya), = of dwelling on, of contemplating.; विषयान visayan (m. acc. pl.), objects, departments, spheres of action, provinces, fields.; पुंसः pumsah (m. gen. sg.), = of a man, for a man.; सङ्ग sangas (m. nom. sg.), = attachment, clinging.;तेषू tesu (m. loco pl.), = in them, to them.; उपजायते upajayate (3rd sg. pr. indic. passive upa *jan), = it is born, it is produced.; सङ्गत sangat (m. abl. sg.), = from attachment, from clinging.; संजायते samjayate* (3rd pI. pr. indic. passive sam *jan), = it is born, it is produced.; कामः kamas (m. nom. sg.), = desire, craving, greed.; कामात् kamat (m. abl. sg.), = from desire, from craving.; क्रोधो krodhas (m. nom. sg.), = anger, wrath, fury.; ऽभिजायते abhijayate* (3rd sg. pr. indic. passive abhi *jan), * it is born, it is produced. ॥२- ६२॥

dhyāyato viṣayānpuṃsaḥ saṅgasteṣūpajāyate ।saṅgātsaṃjāyate kāmaḥ kāmātkrodho'bhijāyate ॥2- 62॥

Persons thinking of material objects get interested towards them. From

interest, arises desire and if that desire is unfulfilled there arises anger. From

anger arises delusion, which causes ignorance. Due to ignorance the person

loses memory and at then the intelligence is lost. When intelligence is lost

everything is lost and such a person is completely ruined. ||2-62, 63||
