| Bhagavadgíta,-ज्ञानविज्ञानयोग jñānavijñānayoga , (S.-1, Ch.-7, V.-1) |
मय्यासक्तमनाः पार्थ योगं युञ्जन्मदाश्रयः ।असंशयं समग्रं मां यथा ज्ञास्यसि तच्छृणु ॥ ७-१॥ |
mayyāsaktamanāḥ pārtha yogaṃ yuñjanmadāśrayaḥ । asaṃśayaṃ samagraṃ māṃ yathā jñāsyasi tacchṛṇu ॥ 7-1॥ |
sribhagavan (m. nom. sg.), the Blessed Lord, the Blessed One.; uvaca (3rd sg. perfect act. *vac), he said, he spoke. मय्य = mayi (loc. sg.), in me.; आसक्त = asakta (p. pass. participle a *sanj), absorbed in, intent on, attached to.; मनाः = manāḥ (n. nom. sg.), mind, thought, devo-tion. (asaktamantis, m. nom. sg. BY cpd., one whose mind is attached, one whose mind is absorbed.); पार्थ = pārtha (m. voc. sg.), Son of Pratha, epithet of Arjuna.; योगं = yogam (m. acc. sg.), Yoga.; युञ्जन =yuñjan (m. nom. sg. pr. participle *yuj), practicing, performing.; मदाश्रयः = madāśrayaḥ (m. nom. sg.), dependent on me, taking refuge in me.; असंशयं = asaṃśayaṃ (adv.), without doubt, without ir-resolution, without qualification.; समग्रं = samagram (adv.), wholly, entirely.; मां = māṃ (acc. sg.), me.; यथा = yathā, how, in which way.; ज्ञास्यसि = jñāsyasi (2nd sg. future act. *jna), thou shalt know.; तद = tad (n. ace. sg.), that, this.; **णु śṛṇu (2nd sg. imperative *sru), hear! |
The Supreme Lord Sri Krishna said: O Partha! Now, listen from Me how
you would know Me completely with your mind fixed to Me, taking shelter
in Me, and by practicing yoga. ||7-1||
