| Bhagavadgíta,-6. ātmasaṃyamayogaḥ आत्मसंयमयोगः , (S.-1, Ch.-6, V.-45) |
प्रयत्नाद्यतमानस्तु योगी संशुद्धकिल्बिषः ।अनेकजन्मसंसिद्धस्ततो याति परां गतिम् ॥ ६-४५॥ |
prayatnādyatamānastu yogī saṃśuddhakilbiṣaḥ । anekajanmasaṃsiddhastato yāti parāṃ gatim ॥ 6-45॥ |
प्रयत्नात = prayatnat (m. abl. sg.), from persevering ef-fort, from exertion.; यतमानस् = yatamānas (m. nom. sg. pr. mid. participle), controlled, restrained.; तु = tu, indeed, but.; योगी = yogi (m. nom. sg.), yogin.; संशुद्ध = saṃśuddha (p. pass. participle sam *sudh), completely cleansed, completely purified.; किल्बिषः = kilbiṣaḥ (m. nom. sg.), guilt, sin, evil. (samsuddhakilbi~as, m. nom. sg. BV cpd., who is completely cleansed of evil.); अनेक = aneka (n.), not one, i.e. many.; जन्म = janma (n.), birth.; संसिद्धस् = samsiddhas (m. nom. sg. p. pass. participle sam *sidh), perfected, successful. (anekajanmasamsiddhas, m. nom. sg. TPcpd., perfected through many births, suc-cessful through many incarnations.); तत = tatas (m. abl. sg.), then, from there.; याति = yāti (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. *ya), he goes.; परां = parāṃ (f. acc. sg.), to the highest, to the supreme, the supreme.; गतिम् = gatim (f. acc. sg.), goal, path. |
The yogi who is enhanced in spirituality from many births and who practices with great effort, gets cleaned from all sins and attains the Supreme abode of the Lord by the influence of his own endeavors. ||6-45||
