| Bhagavadgíta,-ज्ञानकर्मसंन्यासयोगः jñānakarmasaṃnyāsay, (S.-1, Ch.-4, V.-32) |
एवं बहुविधा यज्ञा वितता ब्रह्मणो मुखे । कर्मजान्विद्धि तान्सर्वानेवं ज्ञात्वा विमोक्ष्यसे ॥ ४-३२॥ |
evaṃ bahuvidhā yajñā vitatā brahmaṇo mukhe । karmajānviddhi tānsarvānevaṃ jñātvā vimokṣyase ॥ 4-32॥ |
एवं = evam, thus, accordingly.; बहुविधा =bahuvidhā (m. nom. pl.), of many kinds, of many sorts.; यज्ञा = yajñā (m. nom. pl.), sacrifices, offerings.; वितता = vitatiis (m. nom. pI. sg. p. pass. participle vi *tan), stretched, arranged, spread.; ब्रह्मणो = brahmaṇo (n. gen. sg.), of Brahman.; मुखे = mukhe (n. loco sg.), in the mouth, in the face.; कर्मजान = karmajān (m. acc. pl.), action born, born of action, arising from action.; विद्धि = viddhi (2nd sg. imperative act . .Jvid), know! learn!; तान = tān (m. acc. pl.), them.; सर्वान = sarvān (m. acc. pl.), all.; एवम = evam, thus, this.; ज्ञात्वा = jñātvā (gerund .Jjiiii) , knowing, having known.; विमोक्ष्यसे = vimokṣyase (2nd sg. fut. pass. vi .Jmuc), thou shalt be released, thou shalt be liberated. |
In this way, many types of sacrifices have been uttered elaborately from the
mouths of the Vedas. Know them to be born of actions and knowing thus,
you shall be liberated. ||4-32||
