एषा ब्राह्मी स्थितिः पार्थ नैनां प्राप्य विमुह्यति ।स्थित्वास्यामन्तकालेऽपि ब्रह्मनिर्वाणमृच्छति ॥२- ७२॥ |
eṣā brāhmī sthitiḥ pārtha naināṃ prāpya vimuhyati ।sthitvāsyāmantakāle'pi brahmanirvāṇamṛcchati ॥2- 72॥ |
एषा esa (f. nom. sg.), = this.; ब्राह्मी brahmi(adj., f. nom. sg.), = holy, divine, pertaining to Brahman.; राह्मी स्थितिः brahmf sthitis (f. nom. sg.), = the state of Brahman, Brahmanic state, state concerning Brahman, Brahmanic position.; पार्थ partha, = Son of Prtha, frequent epithet of Arjuna.; नैनां na, = not.; नैनां enam (f. acc. sg.), = this.; प्राप्य prapya (gerund pra Jap) , = attaining, having attained.; विमुह्यति vimuhyati (3rd sg. pr. indie. act. vf *muh) , = he is deluded, he is confused.; स्थित्वा sthitva (gerund *stha), = fixed, standing firm.; स्या asyam (f. loco sg.), = in it, in this.; अन्तकाले antakale (m. loco sg.), = in time of end, at time of death.; ऽपि api, = even, also.; ब्रह्मनिर्वाणमृ brahmanirvanam (n. acc. sg.), Brahmanir-*va).a, the nirviil).a (ceasing to exist) in Brahman (the word nirviil).a-from ; nir*va, blow-means "blown out" in the sense that a candle is blown out).; रच्छति rcchati (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. *r:), = he reaches, he attains. |
O Partha! This is the state of the person who is self-realized. He does not
get deluded after having gained such a state. Even at the time of death,
established in this state, he attains the supreme abode of the Lord. This is
called Brahmanirvana. ||2-72||
