Atmabodha,-Revelling in FREEDOM, (S.-1, Ch.-8, V.-67)

हृदाकाशोदितो ह्यात्मा बोधभानुस्तमोऽपहृत् । सर्वव्यापी सर्वधारी भाति भासयतेऽखिलम् ॥ ६७॥

hṛdākāśodito hyātmā bodhabhānustamo'pahṛt । sarvavyāpī sarvadhārī bhāti bhāsayate'khilam ॥ 67॥

1 “Hrid-aakaasha” uditah hi aatmaa The Self, which verily rises in the “heart-space”, 2 bodha-bhaanuh tamah apahrit; is the sun of knowledge that destroys all darkness; 3 sarva-vyaapee sarva-dhaaree It pervades everything; It sustains everything. 4 bhaati bhaasayate akhilam. It shines by Itself, and makes all else shine.

The Atma, Sun of Knowledge, which rises in the sky of the heart, destroys the darkness of ignorance, pervades everything and sustains all. It shines and makes everything in the universe to shine. Heart here means the arena of the mind from where noble and humane thoughts flow. Here Sun is brought into comparison because it is the ultimate source of light visible to the naked eye.
